70 is the new 50
An interesting article here on the language for older people - seniors, elderly, retiree, etc. Each with its somewhat negative connotation. They seem to be proposing the term ‘older’. It may be catching on. Though we laughed with Viv this week, when she joked she less interested in ‘getting older’ - rather she interested in ‘not getting older’! ‘We all liked 70 is the new 50’

An interesting article by Shashi Tharoor with some surprising research. If you are in your fifties, your the best years lie ahead. It feels that way to me. Though I don’t think my acquiring of new skills will stop anytime soon. I’m hoping to be a life-long learner. See more here ….

An interesting development from the United States is the emergence of different models for senior living. This one at Beacon Hill, is not exactly a seniors village, but rather a loose confederation of seniors living in their own homes in their neighbourhood.
